  ITANAGAR, July 25:  Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has expressed his appreciation for former Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan following his resignation, praising his years of public service and contribution to India's education sector. In a message shared on social media, Khandu described Pradhan as a leader who rose from student activism and brought a deep understanding of the aspirations of young Indians to the education portfolio.  He said Pradhan worked with dedication to strengthen educational institutions and implement key reforms despite the challenges of leading the ministry.   ITANAGAR, July 17:  In a landmark move to strengthen the justice delivery system, the Arunachal Pradesh Cabinet has approved the proposal for the Arunachal Pradesh Advocates Protection Bill, 2026.  The legislation aims to safeguard the lives and properties of advocates while ensuring a safer working environment for the legal fraternity. Once enacted by the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly, the Bill will become the state's first dedicated law providing legal protection to advocates. The decision was taken during the Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Friday. The proposed legislation is designed to protect advocates from threats, violence, intimidation and unlawful interference while performing their professional duties. Keyi Panyor Flood: Rescue, Relief Operations Intensified as Four Remain Missing

  Itanagar, June 25: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has said that the state government is closely monitoring the flash flood situation in Keyi Panyor district, where a devastating deluge struck the Possa area on Wednesday, causing extensive damage to homes, roads and other infrastructure. He said all concerned departments and agencies remain fully engaged in rescue, relief and restoration efforts to assist affected residents and restore normalcy at the earliest. Providing an update on the ongoing operations, the Chief Minister said that 14 stranded tourists were airlifted from Ziro to Naharlagun on Thursday, while the evacuation of another 11 tourists and one patient from Daporijo is currently underway.
