  ITANAGAR, July 2:  MLA Techi Kaso on Thursday visited Puroik Colony in the Papu Nallah area of Itanagar to inspect the site of the devastating fire that ravaged the locality shortly after midnight, leaving several families homeless and causing extensive damage to property. Accompanied by officials of the Itanagar Capital Region (ICR) District Administration and the Corporator of Ward No. 13, the MLA assessed the extent of the damage and interacted with the affected families to understand their immediate needs. Following the inspection, immediate relief assistance was provided to the affected households and tenants. Techi Kaso assured the victims that every possible support would be extended and directed the district administration to undertake a detailed assessment of the losses suffered by each affected family. Naharlagun Police Crack ₹34 Crore Fraud Case; Assam Man Arrested

  Naharlagun, June 22:  In a major breakthrough, Naharlagun Police have successfully cracked a high-value fraud case involving approximately ₹34 crore within just 14 days of the registration of a First Information Report (FIR), leading to the arrest of the prime accused from neighbouring Assam. Addressing a press conference, Naharlagun Superintendent of Police (SP) Dr. Nyelam Nega informed that the FIR was lodged at Naharlagun Police Station on June 5, 2026. Following an intensive investigation, police traced and apprehended the accused on June 20. The arrested individual has been identified as Rishi Raj Agarwal (41), a resident of Assam. He is accused of allegedly defrauding Arunachal Pradesh-based businessman Rajesh Agarwal of nearly ₹34 crore over a span of four years. Naharlagun, June 11: The ICR Naharlagun Police have arrested a 19-year-old man in connection with two alarming incidents involving stalking, unlawful entry, and attempted outraging of the modesty of women that occurred during the early hours of June 7. The first incident was reported at Naharlagun Police Station after a woman alleged that an unidentified individual had been stalking her and attempted to force his way into her residence at around 3:00 AM. According to the complaint, the suspect was discovered within the premises carrying two pairs of scissors and allegedly tried to gain access through both a window and a door. The incident caused significant fear and concern for the victim’s safety. In a separate but strikingly similar case reported at Nirjuli Police Station, an intruder allegedly entered the rented accommodation of a young woman in Lekhi at approximately 3:30 AM while she was asleep.
