Arunachal Mountains Emerge as Pollinator Hotspot

  Itanagar, June 23: The forests and mountains of Arunachal Pradesh continue to showcase the extraordinary richness of the state's natural heritage, with a recent scientific study revealing the region's crucial role in sustaining pollinator diversity in the Eastern Himalaya. A four-year study led by researchers from Rajiv Gandhi University has documented 63 bee species across Northeast India, identifying the Eastern Himalaya as one of Asia's most important biodiversity landscapes and a vital refuge for pollinators.  The research found that mountainous regions above 1,000 metres support the highest diversity of bee species, highlighting the ecological significance of Arunachal Pradesh's high-altitude forests.
