  Ziro, June 10: In a major boost to Arunachal Pradesh's handloom sector, the foundation stone for a Handloom Marketing Complex was laid at the Craft Centre Complex in Hapoli, Ziro, Lower Subansiri district, on June 9. The ceremony was led by Shri Pabitra Margherita, Hon’ble Minister of State for External Affairs and Textiles, Government of India, in the presence of Ziro MLA Shri Hage Appa and several senior officials.   New Delhi, May 1: Oil marketing companies have announced a record increase in commercial LPG prices, with the cost of a 19 kg cylinder rising by ₹993, the steepest single-month hike so far. The revised rates came into effect from May 1 amid ongoing global energy pressures linked to tensions in West Asia. Following the hike, prices of commercial LPG cylinders have crossed ₹3,000 in major metro cities. In Delhi, rates increased from ₹2,078.50 to ₹3,071.50, while Mumbai now stands at around ₹3,024. Kolkata and Chennai have also recorded sharp increases, with prices reaching ₹3,202 and ₹3,237 respectively. Arunachal Pradesh has also been significantly affected by the latest price revision. The cost of a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder in the state has surged from around ₹2,330 to approximately ₹3,323.   The price of domestic Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders has been increased across India with effect from Saturday, March 7, adding to the financial burden on households and businesses. According to sources, the cost of a standard 14.2-kg household cooking gas cylinder has been raised by Rs 60. Following the latest revision, the price of a 14.2-kg non-subsidised domestic LPG cylinder in Delhi has increased to Rs 913, up from the earlier price of Rs 853. The hike comes as part of periodic adjustments made by oil marketing companies in response to global energy price trends and other market factors. In addition to domestic cylinders, the price of commercial LPG cylinders has also been increased. A 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder, commonly used by hotels, restaurants and small food businesses, has become costlier by Rs 115.
