POCSO Convict Dorik Doji Surrenders; Friend Arrested for Aiding Escape

  AALO, July 13:  Dorik Doji, a 29 year old convict under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act who escaped from the Aalo Sub-Jail last week, surrendered before the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Court in Aalo on Monday, bringing an end to a days-long manhunt. Confirming the development, West Siang Superintendent of Police Kardak Riba said Doji surrendered at around 4 pm after sustained efforts by the police, who had remained in constant touch with his family members and persuaded him to return and face the law. In connection with the jailbreak, police have arrested Doji's childhood friend, Tara Rai, for allegedly assisting him in evading arrest.  According to the police, Rai frequently visited Doji during his time in jail and is accused of facilitating his escape by providing him with a scooter and fuel, allowing him to flee after breaking out of custody. Siang Police Bust Drug Network, Three Arrested

  BOLENG, July 11:  Siang District Police, in coordination with the West Siang Anti-Drug Squad (ADS), busted an alleged drug network during a late-night operation in Boleng on July 9.  Three persons, including an Indian Reserve Battalion (IRBn) personnel and two women from West Siang district, were arrested. The operation was conducted as part of the district police's sustained crackdown against drug trafficking. It was carried out under the overall supervision of Superintendent of Police J. K. Lego, IPS, and the direct guidance of SDPO Y. Yangi. The police team was led by Officer-in-Charge of Boleng Police Station, SI T. Padung, along with SI M. Karlo, SI M. Nobeng, ASI L. Karga, L/Ct. P. Nyorak, Ct. M. Riba, Ct. K. Jamoh, Ct. K. Likar, Ct. Y. Likar and Ct. B. Tapen. POCSO Convict Escapes from Aalo Sub-Jail, Hunt Underway

  AALO, July 7: An intensive manhunt has been launched after a 29-year-old convict escaped from the Aalo Sub-Jail in on Monday evening.  The prisoner, identified as Dorik Doji of Doji Jeko village, was serving a five-year sentence under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act when he allegedly fled the jail at around 6:37 pm. Following the escape, police registered a fresh case under Sections 261, 262 and 324(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), issued a lookout notice and alerted all police stations, outposts and check gates to intensify surveillance.  Superintendent of Police, Aalo, Kardak Riba, said search teams have been deployed to trace and apprehend the fugitive at the earliest.
