East Kameng Administration Assesses Flood Risks
SEPPA, July 14: The East Kameng District Administration on Tuesday carried out a comprehensive inspection of flood-affected and landslide-vulnerable areas in and around Seppa town as continuous rainfall and rising river levels heightened concerns over public safety. Deputy Commissioner Ms. Yashaswani B, IAS, accompanied by the Circle Officer of Seppa and colony chairpersons, visited several vulnerable low-lying areas along the Kameng River and Pacha River to assess the impact of recent heavy rainfall, riverbank erosion, and increasing water levels. The inspection covered Shantipur, Kameng Tampa, Ashoka Colony, Sangkam, and Abo Tani Colony, where officials evaluated the extent of damage, identified erosion-prone stretches, and reviewed the district's preparedness to respond to any emerging emergency.
