AAPSU, BMF Meet CIHCS Dahung Students Amid Dharna

  DAHUNG, July 22:  The Being Monpa Foundation (BMF), led by President Tenzin Dhargey along with its Central Executive Members, visited the Central Institute of Himalayan Culture Studies (CIHCS), Dahung, on Wednesday to meet students who have been staging an indefinite dharna since July 20. The delegation interacted with the protesting students and listened to their grievances against the institute's Director and Administrative Accounts Officer (AAO). The meeting was also attended by the Secretary General of the Monpa Mimang Tsokpa (MMT) and his team, Shri Nabam Gandhi, Vice President (Protocol) of the All Arunachal Pradesh Students' Union (AAPSU), representatives of DSU West Kameng, DSU Tawang, Tawang Middle Zone Students' Union (TMZSU), and ARGSU. New APSSB Advertisement Rekindles 80:20 Debate

  ITANAGAR, July 10:  A fresh notification issued by the Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board (APSSB) has reignited the ongoing debate over the State's 80:20 recruitment ratio, after four Lower Division Clerk (LDC) vacancies under the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, West Kameng, were advertised entirely under the Unreserved (UR) category. The addendum, issued on July 9 in continuation of Advertisement No. 05/2026 for the Combined Higher Secondary Level Examination (CHSLE)-2026, notified four LDC posts carrying Pay Level-4 (₹25,000–81,100).  The vacancy chart shows zero posts reserved for APST candidates, while all four posts have been classified as UR. The notification has sparked fresh debate on social media and among sections of the public, with many questioning the continuation of the 80:20 recruitment policy and expressing concern over the absence of APST-reserved vacancies in the latest recruitment. IMD Issues Red Warning for West Kameng and Papum Pare

  ITANAGAR, June 27:  The India Meteorological Department (IMD), Meteorological Centre Itanagar, has issued an Impact-Based Weather Forecast warning for Arunachal Pradesh, placing West Kameng and Papum Pare districts under Red Warning (Take Action) for June 28 (Day-2). The department has forecast thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and heavy rainfall over the warned districts as active monsoon conditions continue to influence the state. According to the district-wise warning map released by the IMD, East Kameng, Pakke Kessang, Lower Subansiri and East Siang have been placed under the Orange Warning (Be Prepared) category. The weather office has indicated that these districts are likely to experience thunderstorms with lightning and heavy rainfall of 6–11 cm within 24 hours at isolated places during the forecast period from June 28 to June 29.
