  PARSI - PARLO, July 13:  A devastating flash flood triggered by incessant heavy rainfall wreaked havoc across the Parsi-Parlo region of Kurung Kumey district on Monday, washing away bridges, damaging public infrastructure, destroying homes and isolating several villages. Among the worst-hit infrastructure was the 66-metre hanging bridge connecting Damin and Huri, which was completely washed away, leaving Huri village cut off from the rest of the district.  The district administration is coordinating with the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) to restore the bridge, a process expected to take approximately two weeks. The floodwaters also swept away the Luksang Valley Bridge and the recently inaugurated Hutar Valley Bridge under the BRO.  In addition, several Wire Rope Suspension Bridges across the Kumey and Tamin rivers were either damaged or washed away, severely disrupting connectivity to villages including Machang, Ruba, Katuk, Pagam, Pachik, Chote, Lania, Mangio, D...

  TALI, June 28:  Tali in Kra Daadi district has emerged as a promising destination for bird conservation and ecotourism after its first-ever systematic bird survey documented 74 bird species, leading to the creation of the area's inaugural bird checklist. The four-day survey, conducted from June 22 to 25, was undertaken by the Arunachal Pradesh Birding Club (APBC) in collaboration with the Hapoli Forest Division. The initiative was spearheaded by the Arunachal Pradesh Ecotourism Development Board with support from the Tali Administration and local Panchayati leaders. Survey teams explored community forests spread across elevations between 800 and 2,000 metres, recording a wide range of bird species that reflect the region's exceptional ecological wealth.  The data collected during the exercise has been uploaded to the eBird India platform, providing an important scientific reference for future biodiversity studies and conservation efforts.
