Tapir Gao Congratulates Pema Khandu on 10 Years

ITANAGAR, July 18:

Lok Sabha MP Tapir Gao has congratulated Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on completing 10 years in office, describing the milestone as a remarkable achievement and expressing confidence in his continued leadership for the state's future.

In his congratulatory message, Gao extended his best wishes to Khandu and expressed hope that he would continue to lead Arunachal Pradesh for another 15 years, citing his vision for the state's brighter future.

Pema Khandu completed a decade as Chief Minister on July 17, becoming one of the longest-serving Chief Ministers in the history of Arunachal Pradesh.

During his tenure, the state has witnessed significant progress in infrastructure development, road connectivity, governance reforms, digital initiatives, healthcare, education, tourism, and welfare programmes.

Khandu's political journey took a decisive turn in 2016 amid political instability when he led 43 of the Congress party's 44 MLAs to the People's Party of Arunachal (PPA), then an ally of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Later that year, in December 2016, he formally joined the BJP, maintaining that aligning with the NDA government at the Centre was essential to secure greater financial assistance and accelerate the pace of development in Arunachal Pradesh, a strategically important border state that depends significantly on central funding.

Following the BJP's victory in the 2019 Assembly elections, Khandu was sworn in as Chief Minister for a second consecutive term on May 29, 2019.

He secured a historic third consecutive term on June 13, 2024, after leading the BJP to a landslide victory in the 2024 Assembly elections.

Over the past 10 years, Khandu has overseen several landmark infrastructure projects and governance reforms while focusing on improving public services and enhancing the state's development trajectory.

His uninterrupted tenure has provided political stability and continuity in governance, earning him recognition as one of Arunachal Pradesh's longest-serving Chief Ministers.

Tapir Gao's congratulatory message comes as political leaders, party workers, and supporters across the state continue to acknowledge Khandu's decade-long leadership and contributions to Arunachal Pradesh's development.
