Army Soldier Killed, Two Injured in Dirang Truck Accident
DIRANG, June 26: One Army personnel lost his life while two others sustained injuries after an Indian Army truck met with a tragic accident on National Highway-13 near the 30 Battalion SSB campus in Dirang, West Kameng district, on Friday afternoon. According to official sources, the vehicle belonging to the 18 Sikh Light Infantry was carrying three Army personnel and was on its way to the unit when the driver reportedly lost control of the truck along a hilly stretch of the highway. The vehicle crashed through the chain-link fence of the 30 Battalion Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) campus before plunging down a steep hillside. On receiving information, the Rapid Rescue Team of the 30 Battalion SSB immediately rushed to the accident site and launched a rescue operation. The trapped soldiers were extricated from the mangled vehicle and evacuated to nearby medical facilities for treatment.
