Mama Natung Announces Scholarship for 100 APSSB Aspirants

  ITANAGAR, July 15:  In a major initiative to support government job aspirants in Arunachal Pradesh, Home Minister Mama Natung met Ms. Osin Mosu, Founder Director of Northeast PSC, at the Civil Secretariat to discuss launching a Special Scholarship Programme for 100 APSSB aspirants from the 11th Seppa West (ST) Assembly Constituency. The programme, proposed in collaboration with Northeast PSC and the Northeast Hornbill Foundation, aims to provide deserving candidates with quality coaching, expert guidance, mentorship, and structured preparation for the Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board (APSSB) examinations. East Kameng Administration Assesses Flood Risks

  SEPPA, July 14:  The East Kameng District Administration on Tuesday carried out a comprehensive inspection of flood-affected and landslide-vulnerable areas in and around Seppa town as continuous rainfall and rising river levels heightened concerns over public safety. Deputy Commissioner Ms. Yashaswani B, IAS, accompanied by the Circle Officer of Seppa and colony chairpersons, visited several vulnerable low-lying areas along the Kameng River and Pacha River to assess the impact of recent heavy rainfall, riverbank erosion, and increasing water levels. The inspection covered Shantipur, Kameng Tampa, Ashoka Colony, Sangkam, and Abo Tani Colony, where officials evaluated the extent of damage, identified erosion-prone stretches, and reviewed the district's preparedness to respond to any emerging emergency. A native of Weshi Village under Pakoti Circle in East Kameng district, Laki Weshi Sangno is the son of Smti. Nani Weshi Sangno and Late Darmang Weshi Sangno.  Over the years, he has established himself as one of the country's most accomplished MMA athletes through a series of impressive performances at the state, national and international levels. His achievements include a silver medal at the Jarbom Gamlin State-Level Boxing Championship in 2018, gold and bronze medals at the National Championships in 2021, a silver medal at the National Championships in 2022, and a silver medal at the Asian MMA Championship the same year. East Kameng Intensifies SIR 2026 Electoral Roll Revision

  SEPPA, July 1:  The East Kameng District Administration has intensified the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026 of the Electoral Roll, with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) carrying out extensive house-to-house verification across the district's remote and difficult terrain. Since the exercise began on June 15, BLOs have been visiting households in far-flung areas, including Langchu in Bameng, Yakli in Chayangtajo, Jeju Dada in Seppa East, and Seba in Seppa West Assembly Constituencies.  Despite heavy monsoon rains, rugged mountain terrain, poor connectivity, and long hours of trekking, the officers have continued their work with dedication to ensure every eligible elector is reached. East Kameng Police Make Record Heroin Seizure, Two Arrested

  Seppa, June 16:  In a major breakthrough against drug trafficking, East Kameng Police seized a large quantity of suspected heroin during a special naka checking operation conducted along National Highway-13 near the Pampoli/Thursday Market area in Seppa. Acting on credible source information regarding the transportation of suspected narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances from Assam to Seppa, a team from Seppa Police Station launched a targeted operation and intercepted the movement of the contraband. During the checking, police recovered and seized 108 vials containing suspected heroin weighing approximately 125.8 grams, including the weight of the vials. In addition to the suspected heroin, the police also recovered a used insulin syringe, small quantities of suspected cannabis and cannabis seeds, cash amounting to ₹10,010, and other incriminating articles believed to be connected with the illegal drug trade.
