  TAWANG July 5:  Tawang Police, with the active assistance of Assam Police, has successfully apprehended two accused persons in separate criminal cases involving alleged cheating, criminal breach of trust, and misappropriation of funds, marking significant progress in both investigations. The first case stems from an FIR lodged on May 25, 2026, by Garib Nath Raut, Manager of Sela Distributors, a wholesale distributor of IMFL and beer located at Old Market, Tawang, against Lakhya Jyoti Boruah, a resident of Soniya Gaon under Nowboicha Police Station in Assam's North Lakhimpur district.   Deomali, July 1:  A coordinated joint inspection was conducted by the Deomali Sub-Divisional Administration of Arunachal Pradesh and the Naharkatiya Sub-Divisional Administration of Assam to assess the damage caused by landslides at multiple locations near Kothalguri along the Joypore–Hukanjuri route. The inspection was attended by the MLA of Naharkatiya, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Naharkatiya, officials from various departments of the Assam Government, the ADC of Deomali, the Circle Officer (CO) of Soha, and BJP Mandal members from Arunachal Pradesh.  The team reviewed the extent of the damage and discussed measures to restore connectivity at the earliest.   Naharlagun, June 22:  In a major breakthrough, Naharlagun Police have successfully cracked a high-value fraud case involving approximately ₹34 crore within just 14 days of the registration of a First Information Report (FIR), leading to the arrest of the prime accused from neighbouring Assam. Addressing a press conference, Naharlagun Superintendent of Police (SP) Dr. Nyelam Nega informed that the FIR was lodged at Naharlagun Police Station on June 5, 2026. Following an intensive investigation, police traced and apprehended the accused on June 20. The arrested individual has been identified as Rishi Raj Agarwal (41), a resident of Assam.   Lakhimpur/Itanagar, June 12: Arunachal Pradesh Anti-Drugs Warriors (APADW) President Shri Gumin Mize has received relief after the Sessions Court in Lakhimpur, Assam, confirmed the ad interim bail granted to him earlier in connection with a case registered at Bihpuria Police Station. The development has been welcomed by his family members, supporters, and anti-drug activists across Arunachal Pradesh. According to Shri Mize's legal team, the court on June 12 made the previously granted ad interim bail absolute, allowing him to remain on bail while the case proceeds. The trial, however, will continue in accordance with the directions of the court.
