IMC Orders Sky-Blue Shutters, Mandatory Waste Segregation for Shops in Itanagar
Itanagar, June 17: The Itanagar Municipal Corporation (IMC) has issued a comprehensive order directing all commercial establishments within its jurisdiction to adopt uniform shopfront standards and implement scientific waste segregation measures as part of a citywide initiative to enhance urban aesthetics, cleanliness, and organized commercial development. In an order issued on June 12, 2026, IMC Commissioner Kego Jilen stated that the measures are aimed at improving the visual appeal of the capital city, promoting a clean and organized marketplace, creating a vibrant urban environment, and curbing unauthorized advertisements across commercial areas. Under the new directives, all shop owners and business establishments have been instructed to paint their shop shutters in sky blue colour to ensure visual uniformity across commercial zones.
