  NAMSAI | November 2:  Namsai Police have successfully traced and safely recovered a missing minor girl within 20 hours of receiving a missing person report, while also arresting the accused in connection with the case. According to police information, the case was registered at Chongkham Police Station as Case No. 23/2026 under Section 137(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), following a written FIR received on November 1, 2026. The girl had reportedly gone missing on October 31, 2026. Taking note of the seriousness of the matter, the Chongkham Police team, under the leadership of the Officer-in-Charge (OC), immediately launched an investigation to trace the missing minor. Through prompt investigation and coordination with authorities in Assam, the police team was subsequently dispatched to Changsari Police Station in Kamrup district, where the missing girl was successfully located and safely recovered.   ROING | November 2:  Arunachal Pradesh and Assam held a Regional Committee meeting in Roing on Sunday to discuss the longstanding inter-state boundary issues between Lower Dibang Valley district of Arunachal Pradesh and Tinsukia district of Assam. The meeting was co-chaired by Arunachal Pradesh Minister Ojing Tasing and Assam Minister Atul Bora, who is also the Chairman of the Tinsukia Regional Committee.  The discussions focused on resolving the boundary-related differences through dialogue and reaching an amicable settlement acceptable to both states.   ITANAGAR | November 2:  Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has reiterated that the proposed 11,200-MW Siang Upper Multipurpose Project (SUMP) will not be imposed on the people, assuring that no decision on its construction will be taken without extensive consultations and public consent. Clarifying the present status of the project, Khandu said the government is currently focusing only on the preparation of the Pre-Feasibility Report (PFR). He emphasised that the ongoing exercise is intended to assess the project's technical feasibility and does not amount to approval for construction. The Chief Minister stated that a decision on whether to proceed with the project would be considered only after the PFR establishes its technical viability.
