  ITANAGAR, July 25:  Continuing its intensified campaign against drug trafficking, the Special Action Team (SAT) of Capital Police Itanagar arrested a woman allegedly involved in heroin peddling during an operation conducted on July 24 at Mithun Happa Colony, Chimpu. Police have withheld the identity of the accused as the investigation is still underway. Acting on specific and credible intelligence, the SAT team, comprising SI Tejab Tadar, Head Constable Tashi Wangchu, Constables Tasso Taser, Jumter Romin, and Lady Constable Dulley Yashing, launched a swift operation under the supervision of the DySP (HQ), ICR.  The suspect was intercepted near her rented accommodation at Mithun Happa Colony.   Itanagar, June 11: Capital Police has clarified that allegations circulated through social media platforms, press statements and public briefings following the arrest of Shri Gumin Mize have been found to be baseless after a detailed departmental inquiry. Shri Gumin Mize was arrested on May 20, 2026, at Police Station Itanagar in connection with Bihpuria Police Station Case No. 72/2026 registered under Sections 329(1), 329(2), 117(1), 117(2), 109, 312, 324, 70 and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with Sections 27(1) and 27(2) of the Arms Act. Following the arrest, several allegations surfaced through social media posts and public statements.
