Chatjo River Tragedy: Search for Third Student Continues
DEOMALI, July 13: The search for the third missing student continued on Monday as the rescue operation at the Chatjo River entered its third day. Rescue teams recovered the body of the second missing student after an extensive search conducted by multiple agencies. The first victim, a student from Kaimai village, was recovered on the day of the incident, Saturday, July 11. With the recovery of the second body on Monday, efforts are now focused on locating the third student, who remains missing. The operation is being led by Inspector Nitish Singh, In-charge of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), and SI Yumto Pulong, In-charge of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), under the overall supervision of ADC (i/c) Deomali, Indira Thomoung Riba. Rescue teams have been camping at the riverbank and will resume the search on Tuesday.
