Flash Flood Ravages Parsi-Parlo, Washes Away Bridges and Cuts Off Villages
PARSI - PARLO, July 13: A devastating flash flood triggered by incessant heavy rainfall wreaked havoc across the Parsi-Parlo region of Kurung Kumey district on Monday, washing away bridges, damaging public infrastructure, destroying homes and isolating several villages. Among the worst-hit infrastructure was the 66-metre hanging bridge connecting Damin and Huri, which was completely washed away, leaving Huri village cut off from the rest of the district. The district administration is coordinating with the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) to restore the bridge, a process expected to take approximately two weeks. The floodwaters also swept away the Luksang Valley Bridge and the recently inaugurated Hutar Valley Bridge under the BRO.
