  ITANAGAR, June 7: Itanagar, July 7: Continuing its drive against drug trafficking, the Special Action Team (SAT) of Capital Police Itanagar arrested a suspected drug peddler during a targeted operation near the bridge connecting Police Colony, Vivek Vihar, and Statistics Colony on July 6. Acting on specific intelligence, the operation was led by SI Padam Padi along with members of the SAT under the supervision of DySP (HQ) Shri Chamrak Arun, who heads the Special Action Team. During the search, police recovered 10 plastic vials containing suspected heroin weighing 11.14 grams, including the weight of the containers.  Officers also seized four empty plastic vials, a syringe, a green lighter, packing materials, and an OPPO F21 mobile phone.   DOIMUKH, July 5: In a major breakthrough, Doimukh Police have solved a high-value burglary case within just six days, recovering the entire stolen amount of ₹7 lakh and arresting the accused. The case was registered on 29 June 2026 after Beki Meena, a resident of Rono Village, lodged a complaint stating that unknown miscreants had broken into her government quarter and stolen ₹7,00,000 kept inside a Godrej locker.  Based on the complaint, Doimukh Police registered DMK PS Case No. 76/26 under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and immediately launched a comprehensive investigation. NIRJULI, July 3:  In a swift and coordinated operation, the Nirjuli Police arrested a 26-year-old man from Assam in connection with a viral sexual harassment case that shocked residents of the Itanagar Capital Region. The incident came to light on June 9, 2026, after a disturbing video circulated widely on social media. The footage showed a young woman being stalked while on her way to computer classes in Rayo Colony.  The accused allegedly approached the victim, touched her inappropriately, and exposed himself in public.   Namsai, June 29:  In a major crackdown on the illegal liquor trade, a joint enforcement team comprising officials from the Tax & Excise Department, Mahadevpur Police, and the General Administration carried out a coordinated inspection drive across Mahadevpur township on Monday. The operation was launched as part of the district administration's ongoing efforts to curb unlawful activities, strengthen law enforcement, and maintain public order. The drive specifically targeted the illegal sale and distribution of Indian-Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and beer. Acting on intelligence and routine enforcement measures, the joint team conducted thorough inspections at several suspected locations within the township to detect unauthorized storage and sale of liquor.   ROING, June 27:  Demonstrating its commitment to community service beyond law enforcement, the Lower Dibang Valley (LDV) Police organised a voluntary blood donation camp at the District Hospital in Roing on Saturday. The initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation from police personnel and officials of the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC), resulting in the collection of 30 units of blood for patients in need.
