APCS Officers Donate ₹10 Lakh to CM Relief Fund

ITANAGAR, July 3: 

The Arunachal Pradesh Civil Service Officers’ Association (APCSOA) has contributed ₹10 lakh to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) to support people affected by the recent flash floods and landslides that have caused widespread devastation across the state.

The contribution comes at a time when several districts of Arunachal Pradesh are reeling from the impact of relentless monsoon rains, which triggered flash floods, landslides, road blockages and damage to public infrastructure. 

Many families have suffered losses, while transportation and essential services have been disrupted in several affected areas.

Chief Minister acknowledged the Association's contribution and expressed heartfelt appreciation to its members for their generous gesture. He said the donation reflects the spirit of compassion and collective responsibility during a challenging time for the state.

"My sincere appreciation to every member of the Association for this remarkable act of generosity," the Chief Minister said while thanking the officers for extending timely support to those in need.

The Chief Minister's Relief Fund is being utilised to provide immediate financial assistance, relief materials and rehabilitation support to families affected by the ongoing monsoon disaster. 

The state government, along with the district administrations, security forces and disaster response agencies, continues to carry out rescue, relief and restoration work in the worst-hit areas.

The APCSOA's contribution is expected to strengthen the government's ongoing relief efforts and serve as an example of solidarity and public service as Arunachal Pradesh continues its recovery from one of the season's most severe spells of flooding and landslides.

Three Held for Mithun Theft in East Siang

  PASIGHAT, July 17:  In a successful joint operation, Mebo Police and Pasighat Police, with active support from the Mithun Owners Association, arrested three persons for allegedly stealing and illegally transporting a mithun.  The stolen animal was successfully recovered. The accused have been identified as Philip Lego (28) of Ayeng Village under Mebo Police Station, Kanggong Lego (19) of Ayeng Village, and Nandu Nath (22), a driver from Chumoni Village in Assam's North Lakhimpur district. According to police, the accused allegedly stole the mithun from the Partung area and were transporting it towards the Itanagar Capital Region (ICR).  Acting on specific intelligence, police intercepted the vehicle carrying the stolen animal at the Gumto Police Check Gate, leading to the recovery of the mithun and the arrest of all three accused. Dr. Lige Basar, Three Others Killed in Assam Crash

  Khetri/Itanagar, May 29:  A tragic road accident in Assam's Khetri area on Friday claimed the lives of four people from Arunachal Pradesh, including a senior veterinary officer, his wife, and two medical students, triggering widespread condolences across the state. The deceased have been identified as Dr. Lige Basar, Veterinary Officer of Keyi Panyor district and president of the Basar Aao Welfare Association (BAWA), his wife Kunga Doima Basar, their son Gemar Basar, and Karma S. Khirmey, Gemar's friend and fellow MBBS student. According to traffic officials, the accident occurred between 11:30 a.m. and noon when the Mahindra Bolero (AR-01Q-0042) in which they were travelling reportedly collided with a truck parked along National Highway 27 in Assam's Khetri area. All four occupants of the vehicle died at the scene.
