LDV Police Donates 30 Units of Blood at Roing Camp

ROING, June 27: 

Demonstrating its commitment to community service beyond law enforcement, the Lower Dibang Valley (LDV) Police organised a voluntary blood donation camp at the District Hospital in Roing on Saturday. The initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation from police personnel and officials of the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC), resulting in the collection of 30 units of blood for patients in need.

The camp was led by Shri Pujom Buchi, APPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Headquarters), who participated alongside officers and personnel from the Civil Police, Indian Reserve Battalion (IRBn), Fire Service, Wireless Telegraphy (WT), Special Branch (SB), and other police ranks. Two officials from NHPC also joined the humanitarian initiative.

A total of 30 voluntary donors contributed to the camp, including 28 police officers and personnel and two NHPC officials. Together, they donated 30 units of blood, which will help strengthen the blood bank and provide critical support to patients requiring emergency transfusions and life-saving medical care.

Highlighting the significance of voluntary blood donation, LDV Police noted that many patients are unable to arrange blood during medical emergencies due to financial constraints or the unavailability of suitable donors. Such voluntary contributions play a vital role in saving lives and ensuring that hospitals can meet urgent medical needs.

The police further emphasised that their responsibilities extend beyond maintaining law and order. Along with taking legal action against offenders, LDV Police continues to work actively for public welfare through various social initiatives aimed at promoting safety, cleanliness, accident prevention, and community support.

The blood donation camp was organised with the objective of saving precious lives and encouraging a spirit of compassion and service among citizens. According to LDV Police, the initiative reflects the force's commitment to caring for the community and standing beside those in need, while promoting humanity, responsibility, and social welfare.

Three Held for Mithun Theft in East Siang

  PASIGHAT, July 17:  In a successful joint operation, Mebo Police and Pasighat Police, with active support from the Mithun Owners Association, arrested three persons for allegedly stealing and illegally transporting a mithun.  The stolen animal was successfully recovered. The accused have been identified as Philip Lego (28) of Ayeng Village under Mebo Police Station, Kanggong Lego (19) of Ayeng Village, and Nandu Nath (22), a driver from Chumoni Village in Assam's North Lakhimpur district. According to police, the accused allegedly stole the mithun from the Partung area and were transporting it towards the Itanagar Capital Region (ICR).  Acting on specific intelligence, police intercepted the vehicle carrying the stolen animal at the Gumto Police Check Gate, leading to the recovery of the mithun and the arrest of all three accused. Dr. Lige Basar, Three Others Killed in Assam Crash

  Khetri/Itanagar, May 29:  A tragic road accident in Assam's Khetri area on Friday claimed the lives of four people from Arunachal Pradesh, including a senior veterinary officer, his wife, and two medical students, triggering widespread condolences across the state. The deceased have been identified as Dr. Lige Basar, Veterinary Officer of Keyi Panyor district and president of the Basar Aao Welfare Association (BAWA), his wife Kunga Doima Basar, their son Gemar Basar, and Karma S. Khirmey, Gemar's friend and fellow MBBS student. According to traffic officials, the accident occurred between 11:30 a.m. and noon when the Mahindra Bolero (AR-01Q-0042) in which they were travelling reportedly collided with a truck parked along National Highway 27 in Assam's Khetri area.
