Doimukh Police Solve ₹7 Lakh Burglary in 6 Days, Recover Entire Cash

DOIMUKH, July 5:

In a major breakthrough, Doimukh Police have solved a high-value burglary case within just six days, recovering the entire stolen amount of ₹7 lakh and arresting the accused.

The case was registered on 29 June 2026 after Beki Meena, a resident of Rono Village, lodged a complaint stating that unknown miscreants had broken into her government quarter and stolen ₹7,00,000 kept inside a Godrej locker. 

Based on the complaint, Doimukh Police registered DMK PS Case No. 76/26 under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and immediately launched a comprehensive investigation.

The investigation was led on the ground by SDPO Doimukh/Balijan, Nabam Rikam, APPS, along with Inspector 

T.M. Nekam, Officer-in-Charge of Doimukh Police Station, the investigating officers, and a dedicated police team. Through meticulous analysis of CCTV footage, electronic surveillance, and reliable human intelligence (HUMINT), the team successfully identified the suspect.

On 5 July 2026, police apprehended Rajiv Natung, a resident of Rono Village under Doimukh Police Station, from the Doimukh area. 

During sustained interrogation, the accused allegedly confessed to the burglary, leading investigators to recover the entire stolen cash of ₹7 lakh. With the recovery and arrest, the case was successfully solved within a record six days of its registration.

The operation was carried out under the close supervision of Superintendent of Police, Papum Pare, Taru Gusar, IPS. Police stated that further investigation into the case is in progress.

Following the successful operation, SDPO Nabam Rikam appealed to residents to install CCTV cameras at their homes, especially covering entry and exit points as well as nearby approach roads. 

He also urged the public to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities or criminal incidents to the police, emphasizing that timely information plays a crucial role in preventing crime and ensuring public safety.

Three Held for Mithun Theft in East Siang

  PASIGHAT, July 17:  In a successful joint operation, Mebo Police and Pasighat Police, with active support from the Mithun Owners Association, arrested three persons for allegedly stealing and illegally transporting a mithun.  The stolen animal was successfully recovered. The accused have been identified as Philip Lego (28) of Ayeng Village under Mebo Police Station, Kanggong Lego (19) of Ayeng Village, and Nandu Nath (22), a driver from Chumoni Village in Assam's North Lakhimpur district. According to police, the accused allegedly stole the mithun from the Partung area and were transporting it towards the Itanagar Capital Region (ICR).  Acting on specific intelligence, police intercepted the vehicle carrying the stolen animal at the Gumto Police Check Gate, leading to the recovery of the mithun and the arrest of all three accused. Dr. Lige Basar, Three Others Killed in Assam Crash

  Khetri/Itanagar, May 29:  A tragic road accident in Assam's Khetri area on Friday claimed the lives of four people from Arunachal Pradesh, including a senior veterinary officer, his wife, and two medical students, triggering widespread condolences across the state. The deceased have been identified as Dr. Lige Basar, Veterinary Officer of Keyi Panyor district and president of the Basar Aao Welfare Association (BAWA), his wife Kunga Doima Basar, their son Gemar Basar, and Karma S. Khirmey, Gemar's friend and fellow MBBS student. According to traffic officials, the accident occurred between 11:30 a.m. and noon when the Mahindra Bolero (AR-01Q-0042) in which they were travelling reportedly collided with a truck parked along National Highway 27 in Assam's Khetri area.
