Three NSCN Cadres Surrender, Return to Mainstream in Changlang

  Changlang, June 22: In a significant development towards peace, stability, and rehabilitation in the region, three cadres belonging to the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN) have voluntarily surrendered and returned to mainstream society in Changlang district. According to official sources, two cadres of NSCN-Reformation (NSCN-R) and one cadre of NSCN-Isak-Muivah (NSCN-IM) recently surrendered before the Changlang District Police. The surrender was facilitated through continuous counselling efforts by the police and the active support and encouragement of their family members. The surrendered individuals chose to renounce the path of violence and insurgency in order to lead a peaceful and productive life within society. Patient Bedsheets Rolled Out in Hospitals

  Itanagar, June 23: In a move aimed at enhancing patient care and hospital hygiene, the Health Department has introduced bedsheets for patients' beds on a trial basis in government hospitals across the state. The initiative was launched on Monday in the presence of Health Minister Biyuram Wahge following hospital requirements and feedback received from the public. Under the trial initiative, blue bedsheets have been provided for male wards and pink bedsheets for female wards. The bedsheets carry the official logo of the Health Department and are intended to create a cleaner, more comfortable, and patient-friendly environment in hospitals. Naharlagun Police Crack ₹34 Crore Fraud Case; Assam Man Arrested

  Naharlagun, June 22:  In a major breakthrough, Naharlagun Police have successfully cracked a high-value fraud case involving approximately ₹34 crore within just 14 days of the registration of a First Information Report (FIR), leading to the arrest of the prime accused from neighbouring Assam. Addressing a press conference, Naharlagun Superintendent of Police (SP) Dr. Nyelam Nega informed that the FIR was lodged at Naharlagun Police Station on June 5, 2026. Following an intensive investigation, police traced and apprehended the accused on June 20. The arrested individual has been identified as Rishi Raj Agarwal (41), a resident of Assam. AIFF Approves Proposal to Rename Itself as Football Federation of Bharat

  New Delhi, June 20: The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has approved a proposal to change its name to the Football Federation of Bharat (FFB) during a Special General Body Meeting (SGBM) held on June 20, 2026. The decision marks a significant step toward rebranding the country's football governing body, although the name change is not yet official and remains subject to further approvals. During the meeting, AIFF members unanimously agreed to forward the proposal to the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports for consideration. The federation clarified that the proposed change will only come into effect after receiving approval from the Sports Ministry and may also require acceptance from international football governing bodies, including FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).
