Two Theft Suspects Apprehended in Lower Dibang Valley’s Koronu Block

Roing, October 2:

A major breakthrough has been reported in a series of theft cases that have troubled residents of Koronu Block in Lower Dibang Valley district, Arunachal Pradesh, for the past several months.

Repeated thefts have reportedly been reported from Abango, Injono, Denllo, Koronu, Bhismaknagar and Balek-Simari. Motorcycles, agricultural materials, gold ornaments, household belongings and other valuable property were among the items allegedly stolen.

The case saw a significant development on Friday after residents of Abango and Balek-Simari reportedly apprehended two suspected members of an alleged five-member group believed to be linked to the theft incidents.

The two suspects have been identified as Beleka of Roing and Asif Ali of Chapakhuwa. Further investigation is underway to determine their alleged involvement and whether other members were connected to the reported thefts.

The breakthrough comes after residents of Abango took up regular night patrolling in response to the repeated incidents.

Villagers reportedly stayed awake through the night on several occasions to keep watch over their homes, property and neighbourhood.

Residents of Balek-Simari also joined the effort, with the coordinated vigilance eventually leading to the apprehension of the two suspects.

The development has highlighted the role of community cooperation in responding to repeated thefts in the area.

Residents had been increasingly concerned over the loss of motorcycles, agricultural materials and other valuable belongings.

The investigation is continuing, and more details are expected to emerge as authorities examine whether additional individuals were involved in the series of thefts reported across Koronu Block.
