Tawang Police Conduct Surprise Inspection of Commercial Vehicles

Tawang, October 2:

Tawang Police, along with Lham Tsering, President of the All Arunachal Pradesh Public Transport Federation (AAPPTF), Tawang Unit, and its executive members, conducted a surprise inspection of commercial vehicles in Tawang on Friday.

During the inspection, officials checked taxi permits, insurance documents, pollution certificates and other essential documents to verify whether commercial vehicles were complying with the required regulations.

Tawang Police also issued a strict warning to commercial vehicle owners and drivers regarding the use of proper number plates.

Police clarified that commercial vehicles must display yellow number plates instead of white plates. Vehicle owners and operators were urged to ensure that the required yellow number plates are installed on their vehicles.

The police said such inspections will continue every month to promote discipline and compliance among commercial vehicle operators.

The initiative is also aimed at making tourism-related transportation in Tawang more organised and disciplined, while setting an example for other parts of Arunachal Pradesh.

Authorities appealed to all taxi owners and drivers to keep their vehicle documents valid and updated at all times.

The AAPPTF Tawang Unit also urged taxi owners, drivers and its members to follow AAPPTF rules and maintain proper discipline and decorum.

The federation expressed hope that the Tawang unit will continue to uphold responsible transport practices and set a positive example for the wider transport community in the state.
