Techi Kaso Flags Senkhi Bridge Delay

ITANAGAR, September 19:

Itanagar MLA Techi Kaso on Saturday inspected several ongoing and proposed development projects in Senkhi View, Moub-II, Division-IV and Chimpupatnagar areas.

Kaso was accompanied by the Deputy Commissioner of the Itanagar Capital Region, PWD officials, Ward No. 8 Corporator and local residents during the inspection.

A major focus of the visit was the Senkhi View Bridge, which is expected to connect NH-415 near the PHQ area with Senkhi View through Ganga village.

The bridge construction began on August 1, 2022, with the original completion deadline set for July 31, 2025. An extension was later granted, with the revised period scheduled to end on September 20, 2026.

With the project still incomplete, Kaso directed PWD Capital Division-A officials to pursue the matter and complete the necessary paperwork for submitting a report to the state government.

The team also reviewed ongoing school construction in the area. Construction of Government Middle School (GMS), Moub-II, was described as satisfactory, while the new building of Government Secondary School (GSS), Chimpupatnagar, was found to be nearing completion.

The inspection also covered proposed road construction in Division-IV and the Veterinary Complex area following requests from local residents and Ward No. 8 Corporator Ngurang Yache Ji.

Residents in the concerned areas were advised to leave a minimum five-metre setback along the proposed roads. The space is intended to allow fire brigade vehicles and water tankers to move freely.

The inspection comes as several infrastructure projects in the capital continue to progress, while delayed works such as the Senkhi View Bridge remain a focus of administrative attention.
