40 Arunachal Students Begin Somnath Yatra

Itanagar, September 25:

Chief Minister Pema Khandu, along with Ministers Mama Natung and Dasanglu Pul, flagged off a 40-member student delegation from Arunachal Pradesh for the Somnath Swabhiman Yatra.

The students are from Rajiv Gandhi University, Jarbom Gamlin Government Law College, Arunachal Pradesh University and NIT Arunachal Pradesh.

Khandu later shared photographs of the flag-off and wished the students a safe journey to Somnath in Gujarat.

Describing Somnath as more than a sacred pilgrimage site, the Chief Minister said it represents resilience, strength and the enduring spirit of India.

He said the journey would give the students an opportunity to experience the country’s heritage firsthand and develop a deeper connection with India’s history.

Khandu also said the exposure would help strengthen the bonds of national unity and integrity among the young participants.

The participation of students from different higher educational institutions makes the journey an opportunity for both cultural exposure and educational learning.

The delegation is expected to experience the historical and cultural significance of Somnath as part of the wider Somnath Swabhiman initiative.
