Upper Subansiri Resident Flags NMMS Attendance Issues Under VB-G RAM G
Upper Subansiri, August 24:
A resident of Upper Subansiri district has urged the district administration to address difficulties faced by workers under the VB-G RAM G Scheme, formerly known as MGNREGA, due to poor network connectivity and the mandatory NMMS App-based attendance system.
In a representation to the Deputy Commissioner, Gomda Nirin of Aki Nirin village said poor mobile network connectivity in several villages is making it difficult for workers to record their daily attendance through the NMMS App.
Nirin said workers are sometimes unable to mark their attendance despite reporting for and completing their assigned work.
He said the problem could also result in delays in wage payments, causing hardship to beneficiaries who depend on the scheme for their livelihood.
The issue is not limited to workers, as field staff and mates involved in implementing the scheme are also reportedly facing difficulties because of unreliable connectivity.
Nirin has requested the authorities to consider changing the existing attendance system in areas with poor network coverage.
He suggested introducing an offline attendance option or allowing attendance to be recorded on a weekly basis.
He appealed to the district administration and the concerned authorities to take timely action so that genuine workers are not affected by technical and connectivity-related problems.
The representation was submitted by Gomda Nirin, a resident of Aki Nirin village in Upper Subansiri district, seeking a practical solution to the issue.
