NNSPSU Seeks Action on Teacher Shortage, School Issues

KOLORIANG, Aug 21:

The Nyapin Nyobia Sangram Phassang Students’ Union (NNSPSU) has submitted a representation to the Deputy Director of School Education, Kurung Kumey, seeking immediate action on key issues affecting government schools in the district.

The Union has raised concerns over the alleged deployment of regular teachers to BRCC, CRCC and BEO offices, saying such arrangements may be contributing to a shortage of teaching staff in schools.

It has also called for the transfer or rationalization of teachers from non-functional schools to nearby functional schools that are facing an actual shortage of subject teachers.

The NNSPSU has separately sought an immediate physical inspection of the Government Residential School at Pating following reports that the school is being shifted to a new location.

According to the Union, concerns have been raised over the availability of adequate land and the potential for developing the required infrastructure at the new site.

The Union has also questioned the continuation of construction works amid reported documentation and land-related issues and urged authorities to verify the matter on the ground.

The NNSPSU has appealed to the education authorities to conduct an immediate field inquiry, establish the facts and take appropriate corrective measures in the larger interest of students, teachers and the education system in Kurung Kumey district.

Three Held for Mithun Theft in East Siang

  PASIGHAT, July 17:  In a successful joint operation, Mebo Police and Pasighat Police, with active support from the Mithun Owners Association, arrested three persons for allegedly stealing and illegally transporting a mithun.  The stolen animal was successfully recovered. The accused have been identified as Philip Lego (28) of Ayeng Village under Mebo Police Station, Kanggong Lego (19) of Ayeng Village, and Nandu Nath (22), a driver from Chumoni Village in Assam's North Lakhimpur district. According to police, the accused allegedly stole the mithun from the Partung area and were transporting it towards the Itanagar Capital Region (ICR).  Acting on specific intelligence, police intercepted the vehicle carrying the stolen animal at the Gumto Police Check Gate, leading to the recovery of the mithun and the arrest of all three accused. Dr. Lige Basar, Three Others Killed in Assam Crash

  Khetri/Itanagar, May 29:  A tragic road accident in Assam's Khetri area on Friday claimed the lives of four people from Arunachal Pradesh, including a senior veterinary officer, his wife, and two medical students, triggering widespread condolences across the state. The deceased have been identified as Dr. Lige Basar, Veterinary Officer of Keyi Panyor district and president of the Basar Aao Welfare Association (BAWA), his wife Kunga Doima Basar, their son Gemar Basar, and Karma S. Khirmey, Gemar's friend and fellow MBBS student. According to traffic officials, the accident occurred between 11:30 a.m. and noon when the Mahindra Bolero (AR-01Q-0042) in which they were travelling reportedly collided with a truck parked along National Highway 27 in Assam's Khetri area.
