Changlang Police Seize 22.2g Suspected Heroin, Arrest One
CHANGLANG, July 31:
In a continued crackdown on drug trafficking, Changlang Police arrested a man and seized approximately 22.2 grams of suspected heroin during an operation in the Nadipar area of Changlang district.
The operation was carried out by a team from Changlang Police Station led by Inspector B. Saroh, Officer-in-Charge of PS Changlang, under the close supervision of the Superintendent of Police, Changlang.
The team included Constables Nokwang Khethey, Sushil Rajbhor, Hiarang Apesam, Nowang Wangsa, Lady Constable Aroti Mibang, and Driver Constable Lomdung Hakhi.
During the search operation, police recovered the suspected contraband powder, believed to be heroin, concealed in plastic containers from the possession of Manik Bonik, a resident of the Nadipar area.
The accused was taken into custody, and a case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.
Police said further investigation is in progress to determine the source and possible links of the seized contraband.
Changlang District Police reaffirmed its commitment to curbing drug abuse and trafficking, stating that sustained action will continue against those involved in the illegal narcotics trade.
