Project Muskaan: Sille Oyan Police Continue Child Safety Outreach
PASIGHAT, September 13:
Child safety is not a one-day campaign but a continuous commitment, and the team of Police Station (PS) Sille Oyan is reinforcing that message through regular outreach activities under Project Muskaan – Child Safety Initiative.
As part of the initiative, the PS Sille Oyan team visited Marshal Residential School at Rani, Pasighat, where they interacted with students and conducted an awareness programme focused on child safety and protection.
The interaction was carried out in a friendly and child-sensitive manner, allowing students to engage freely with the police and discuss issues concerning their safety and well-being.
The team sensitised the children about personal safety, child rights, responsible behaviour and the importance of speaking up whenever they feel unsafe or encounter inappropriate behaviour.
The police also encouraged the students to approach trusted adults and seek help whenever they face situations that make them uncomfortable or put their safety at risk.
The outreach was aimed not only at spreading awareness but also at building trust and confidence between children and the police.
Through such regular interactions, the initiative seeks to ensure that children understand that the police are approachable, supportive and ready to listen to their concerns.
The appreciation and feedback received from the school further highlighted the importance of maintaining a continuous connection with children, schools and parents.
Project Muskaan’s ongoing outreach reflects the police department’s broader effort to create a safer and more supportive environment for children through awareness, communication and community engagement.
