Lipin Ete to Represent India at Asian Karate Championship in Jordan

 


ITANAGAR, September 2: Arunachal Pradesh karate athlete Lipin Ete has been selected to represent India at the 24th Asian Cadet, Junior & Under-21 Karate Championship 2026, scheduled to be held in Jordan from September 6 to 10.

A player of the Arunachal Pradesh Amateur Karate-Do Association (APAKA), Lipin has been selected for the Indian contingent in the Under-21 Female Individual Kata category.

Her selection marks another significant milestone in her international career and adds to the growing recognition of Arunachal Pradesh’s emerging sporting talent.

Lipin will join the KIO National Team in New Delhi on September 4, before departing for Jordan to compete in the continental championship.

The young karateka enters the championship with an impressive record of performances at national and international events.

In 2022, she won a bronze medal at the Thailand Open Karate Championship. The same year, she secured two bronze medals in Kata and the Under-45 kg category at the 10th Commonwealth Karate Championship in Birmingham, England.

Lipin continued her strong run in 2023, winning gold in Under-21 Individual Kata and silver in Team Kata at the 7th South Asian Karate Championship in Nepal.

She later represented India at the WKF Karate 1 Youth League in Fujairah, UAE, in February 2024.

Her international success continued with a bronze medal in Under-21 Kata at the 11th Commonwealth Karate Championship in South Africa in 2024. In 2025, she claimed silver in Under-21 Kata at the 9th South Asian Karate Championship in Sri Lanka.

In 2026, Lipin added another major achievement to her record by winning gold in Team Kata at the USA Open Karate Championship in the United States.

Congratulating Lipin on her selection, APAKA President Yarda Niki and General Secretary John Bagang extended their best wishes to the athlete for her participation in the prestigious Asian championship.
