DC Tawang Felicitates 62 Best Teachers on Teachers’ Day
Tawang, September 5:
Deputy Commissioner Tawang Namgyal Angmo, IAS, felicitated 62 best-performing teachers from across the district on Teachers’ Day in recognition of their contribution to students’ academic success.
The teachers were honoured after their students secured 100 per cent results in their respective subjects in the recently declared CBSE Class X and XII examinations.
The felicitation programme was held at the auditorium of Government Higher Secondary School, Tawang, and recognised the dedication, sincerity and commitment of teachers towards improving academic performance in the district.
Addressing the gathering, DC Namgyal Angmo said teaching should not be seen merely as a profession focused on classroom instruction and imparting knowledge. She described it as a profound responsibility involving the shaping of an entire generation.
She urged teachers to carry this sense of responsibility throughout their careers and reminded them of the lasting influence they have on their students.
The Deputy Commissioner noted that while administrators and officers work to implement schemes, provide technical support and develop educational infrastructure, these efforts can succeed only with the active involvement and dedication of teachers.
She particularly appreciated teachers serving in remote and far-flung areas of Tawang despite the challenges they face. She said their commitment to educating children deserves recognition and encouraged them never to underestimate the importance of their profession.
According to the DC, the knowledge, values and guidance imparted by teachers may take years to show their full impact, but their contribution can shape individuals and society for generations.
Speaking about sustainable development, she called upon teachers to adopt a long-term vision and keep the interests of future generations in mind. She emphasised that development should be measured not only by immediate gains but also by its lasting benefits to society.
She further underlined the importance of education as one of the strongest foundations for building a responsible, informed and sustainable society.
On behalf of the District Administration and the people of Tawang, the Deputy Commissioner expressed gratitude to teachers for their dedicated service, contribution to nation-building and role in shaping future generations.
DDSE Tawang Hridar Phuntsok also extended Teachers’ Day greetings to the teaching fraternity and thanked the Deputy Commissioner for initiating the felicitation programme.
He said recognising teachers for their dedication would encourage the awardees while motivating others to work towards greater academic excellence.
Phuntsok also appreciated the continued support of the District Administration in strengthening education in Tawang.
He attributed the district’s strong performance in the CBSE Class X examination, where Tawang secured the top position among Arunachal Pradesh districts this year, to the collective efforts of teachers and the guidance and supervision of the administration.
Earlier, In-charge Principal of Government Higher Secondary School, Tawang, T. Sumnyan, welcomed the gathering and expressed gratitude to the Deputy Commissioner for recognising the teachers.
She also thanked the participating teachers for attending the programme despite their prior commitments to Teachers’ Day celebrations at their respective schools.
The programme concluded with the felicitation of all 62 best-performing teachers from across Tawang district.
DPC-ISSE Dondup proposed the vote of thanks and expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, teachers and everyone involved in the successful conduct of the programme.
