Tawang Police Trace Four Missing Minor Boys

Tawang, August 14: 

Tawang Police on Friday successfully traced and safely recovered four minor boys who had gone missing from Eklavya Model Residential School, Bana, in East Kameng district.

Information about the missing children was received from the Officer-in-Charge of Seppa Police Station at around 12:30 PM. The boys were reportedly believed to be travelling towards Tawang district.

Acting promptly, Tawang Police launched a search across Tawang township to locate the children. The operation was carried out by a team from Police Station Tawang under the supervision of Superintendent of Police Tawang Tasi Tonong Darang, APPS, and DySP (HQ) Togum Gonggo.

The team included Lady Inspector Nii Angu, OC PS-cum-WPS Tawang, SI (SG) Tsering Rinchin, HC Pema Khandu, LCt Lham Drema and HC (D) Jambey Lhondup.

The coordinated search produced results within minutes, with all four boys located and intercepted near the Parade Ground area in Tawang at around 1:05 PM, just 35 minutes after the information was received.

Following their recovery, the SP and DySP Tawang, Child Welfare Committee (CWC), Tawang, and OC Seppa Police Station were informed. The children were then brought to Police Station Tawang for necessary formalities, interaction and monitoring.

CWC members Sonam Dolkar and Genden Lhamu of DCPU Tawang counselled the children and assessed their well-being. 

The authorities ensured that appropriate attention was given to their safety and welfare throughout the process.

After completion of the required procedures and counselling, all four minors were safely handed over to their parents in good health.

The quick recovery highlights the importance of timely information sharing and effective coordination between police units across districts, particularly in cases involving the safety of children.

Three Held for Mithun Theft in East Siang

  PASIGHAT, July 17:  In a successful joint operation, Mebo Police and Pasighat Police, with active support from the Mithun Owners Association, arrested three persons for allegedly stealing and illegally transporting a mithun.  The stolen animal was successfully recovered. The accused have been identified as Philip Lego (28) of Ayeng Village under Mebo Police Station, Kanggong Lego (19) of Ayeng Village, and Nandu Nath (22), a driver from Chumoni Village in Assam's North Lakhimpur district. According to police, the accused allegedly stole the mithun from the Partung area and were transporting it towards the Itanagar Capital Region (ICR).  Acting on specific intelligence, police intercepted the vehicle carrying the stolen animal at the Gumto Police Check Gate, leading to the recovery of the mithun and the arrest of all three accused. Dr. Lige Basar, Three Others Killed in Assam Crash

  Khetri/Itanagar, May 29:  A tragic road accident in Assam's Khetri area on Friday claimed the lives of four people from Arunachal Pradesh, including a senior veterinary officer, his wife, and two medical students, triggering widespread condolences across the state. The deceased have been identified as Dr. Lige Basar, Veterinary Officer of Keyi Panyor district and president of the Basar Aao Welfare Association (BAWA), his wife Kunga Doima Basar, their son Gemar Basar, and Karma S. Khirmey, Gemar's friend and fellow MBBS student. According to traffic officials, the accident occurred between 11:30 a.m. and noon when the Mahindra Bolero (AR-01Q-0042) in which they were travelling reportedly collided with a truck parked along National Highway 27 in Assam's Khetri area.
