MLA Wanglam Sawin flagged off the ‘Tiranga Abhiyan’

KHONSA, August 9: 

Khonsa East MLA Wanglam Sawin on Sunday flagged off the ‘Tiranga Abhiyan’ Bullet Rally at Khonsa as part of the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign 2026.

Chief Secretary of Arunachal Pradesh Manish Kumar Gupta, IAS, joined the rally and led the riders, giving added significance to the campaign aimed at promoting patriotism, unity and national pride.

The rally was jointly organised by the Tirap District Administration in collaboration with the AR-13 Tirap Riders and Jaro Riders teams. Team leaders Kampong Mongwang of AR-13 Tirap Riders and Wangnan Bo of Jaro Riders led their respective groups.

A total of 24 riders, with 12 from each team, took part in the approximately 20-kilometre rally. The rally was flagged off from the Tini-Ali Old Petrol Pump point and concluded at Lamsa village.

Speaking during the programme, the team leaders said the rally was intended to create awareness about patriotism and the pride of being citizens of India. They urged people to proudly display the National Flag at their homes from August 9 to 17 and participate in the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign.

Deputy Commissioner of Tirap Badonlum Tawsik, APCS (AG), said the initiative was aimed at encouraging citizens to display the Tricolour and celebrate the spirit of patriotism, unity and national pride.

He said the flag-off marked the beginning of the campaign in Tirap district and conveyed a message of collective participation and national unity.

Addressing the gathering, MLA Wanglam Sawin said Har Ghar Tiranga is a nationwide initiative of the Government of India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He appealed to the people of Tirap to participate wholeheartedly in the campaign and draw inspiration from the National Flag while upholding the ideals of the nation.

Chief Secretary Manish Kumar Gupta also called upon the people of Tirap to participate enthusiastically in the campaign and ensure that the Tricolour is proudly displayed at homes across the district.

The Chief Secretary, accompanied by the Deputy Commissioner and his team, participated in the rally up to Lamsa village before proceeding to Changlang district for the TCL official tour programme.
