Ojing Tasing Inaugurates New Conference Hall at Arunachal Apex Bank

Itanagar, August 19: 

Minister of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Ojing Tasing inaugurated the new Conference Hall of the Arunachal Pradesh State Apex Bank Ltd. on Wednesday and unveiled the new logo of the Department of Cooperation.

The inauguration marked an effort to strengthen the department’s institutional identity and improve its capacity to implement cooperative initiatives across the state.

The programme was followed by an extensive review meeting of the Department of Cooperation in the presence of Secretary (Cooperation) Mito Dirchi and Registrar of Cooperative Societies Jummar Bam.

Tasing held a six-hour-long discussion with District Registrars of Cooperative Societies (DRCSs) and Assistant Registrars of Cooperative Societies (ARCSs) from across Arunachal Pradesh.

The discussions focused on identifying challenges faced by the department at the grassroots level and finding practical, time-bound solutions to improve its functioning.

Special emphasis was placed on strengthening cooperative institutions, improving coordination at the district level and ensuring that the benefits of cooperative initiatives reach people effectively.

The review also highlighted the importance of bridging the gap between policy and ground-level implementation to ensure that cooperative policies deliver greater benefits to the people of Arunachal Pradesh.

The initiative was summed up with the message of building stronger cooperatives for a “Viksit Arunachal Pradesh” through improved institutional coordination and effective implementation.

Three Held for Mithun Theft in East Siang

  PASIGHAT, July 17:  In a successful joint operation, Mebo Police and Pasighat Police, with active support from the Mithun Owners Association, arrested three persons for allegedly stealing and illegally transporting a mithun.  The stolen animal was successfully recovered. The accused have been identified as Philip Lego (28) of Ayeng Village under Mebo Police Station, Kanggong Lego (19) of Ayeng Village, and Nandu Nath (22), a driver from Chumoni Village in Assam's North Lakhimpur district. According to police, the accused allegedly stole the mithun from the Partung area and were transporting it towards the Itanagar Capital Region (ICR).  Acting on specific intelligence, police intercepted the vehicle carrying the stolen animal at the Gumto Police Check Gate, leading to the recovery of the mithun and the arrest of all three accused. Dr. Lige Basar, Three Others Killed in Assam Crash

  Khetri/Itanagar, May 29:  A tragic road accident in Assam's Khetri area on Friday claimed the lives of four people from Arunachal Pradesh, including a senior veterinary officer, his wife, and two medical students, triggering widespread condolences across the state. The deceased have been identified as Dr. Lige Basar, Veterinary Officer of Keyi Panyor district and president of the Basar Aao Welfare Association (BAWA), his wife Kunga Doima Basar, their son Gemar Basar, and Karma S. Khirmey, Gemar's friend and fellow MBBS student. According to traffic officials, the accident occurred between 11:30 a.m. and noon when the Mahindra Bolero (AR-01Q-0042) in which they were travelling reportedly collided with a truck parked along National Highway 27 in Assam's Khetri area. All four occupants of the vehicle died at the scene.
