Kra Daadi Police Bust Alleged Car Theft Racket, Four Arrested

PALIN, August 10: 

Kra Daadi District Police have claimed to have busted an alleged interstate high-end vehicle theft racket, arresting four persons identified as the alleged key accused and recovering 15 vehicles.

According to SP Kra Daadi Sepraj Perme, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was formed to investigate the alleged vehicle theft racket. 

The team was headed by DySP Mape Zirdo, along with OC Jonkey and Investigating Officer SI Nalotong Jamoh, under the supervision of Officer-in-Charge Kangkilido Pertin.

During the investigation, police seized 15 vehicles allegedly linked to the racket. The recovered vehicles include two Toyota Fortuners, two Mahindra Thars, one Scorpio, six Hyundai Cretas, two Kia Seltos, one Hyundai Alcazar and one Hyundai Venue.

Police identified the four arrested persons as Zahangir Alam, Mojhibur Rahman, Mohammad Sablu and Md. Gargantuan Ali, all reportedly from Assam.

SP Perme said Zahangir Alam, who was arrested from Barpeta, Assam, was allegedly the kingpin of the racket.

According to police, the alleged racket involved stealing high-end vehicles from the Delhi-NCR region before transporting them to Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland for sale.

Police further alleged that the accused searched for prospective buyers and, in some cases, involved unsuspecting individuals in the network.

SP Perme said the investigation has been completed and a chargesheet has been filed. Police have identified 11 persons as allegedly being involved in the case, with the four arrested persons described as the alleged main accused.

The police said the coordinated efforts of the SIT and investigating officers helped trace the alleged network, arrest the accused and recover the vehicles.

The allegations against the accused are subject to due legal process, and their guilt or innocence will ultimately be decided by the competent court.

Three Held for Mithun Theft in East Siang

  PASIGHAT, July 17:  In a successful joint operation, Mebo Police and Pasighat Police, with active support from the Mithun Owners Association, arrested three persons for allegedly stealing and illegally transporting a mithun.  The stolen animal was successfully recovered. The accused have been identified as Philip Lego (28) of Ayeng Village under Mebo Police Station, Kanggong Lego (19) of Ayeng Village, and Nandu Nath (22), a driver from Chumoni Village in Assam's North Lakhimpur district. According to police, the accused allegedly stole the mithun from the Partung area and were transporting it towards the Itanagar Capital Region (ICR).  Acting on specific intelligence, police intercepted the vehicle carrying the stolen animal at the Gumto Police Check Gate, leading to the recovery of the mithun and the arrest of all three accused. Dr. Lige Basar, Three Others Killed in Assam Crash

  Khetri/Itanagar, May 29:  A tragic road accident in Assam's Khetri area on Friday claimed the lives of four people from Arunachal Pradesh, including a senior veterinary officer, his wife, and two medical students, triggering widespread condolences across the state. The deceased have been identified as Dr. Lige Basar, Veterinary Officer of Keyi Panyor district and president of the Basar Aao Welfare Association (BAWA), his wife Kunga Doima Basar, their son Gemar Basar, and Karma S. Khirmey, Gemar's friend and fellow MBBS student. According to traffic officials, the accident occurred between 11:30 a.m. and noon when the Mahindra Bolero (AR-01Q-0042) in which they were travelling reportedly collided with a truck parked along National Highway 27 in Assam's Khetri area.
