AAPSU Urges APSSB to Implement Cabinet Recruitment Criteria

ITANAGAR, August 14:

The All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) has urged the Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board (APSSB) to immediately implement the State Cabinet’s decision on uniform eligibility criteria for direct recruitment to Group A, B and C posts.

In a letter dated August 14, AAPSU referred to its earlier representation submitted on July 14, requesting the APSSB to hold in abeyance fresh recruitment advertisements and examinations until the High-Level Committee on the 80:20 reservation ratio submitted its final report and the government announced its decision.

AAPSU said it has now come to understand that the State Cabinet, during its meeting on August 13, approved uniform eligibility criteria for direct recruitment to all Group A, B and C posts.

According to the union, the approved criteria make three conditions mandatory: Permanent Residence, APST/Indigenous Status, and proficiency in an Indigenous Tribal Language.

The Cabinet has also directed the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) and APSSB to incorporate these criteria into all future recruitment processes, AAPSU said.

In its letter to the APSSB chairman, the union requested that the decision be implemented with immediate effect in all future recruitment advertisements, notifications and examinations.

AAPSU also urged the Board to ensure that the three mandatory conditions approved by the Cabinet are clearly incorporated into the recruitment process.

The union said the move is important for safeguarding the interests of Arunachal Pradesh’s indigenous population and expressed confidence that the APSSB would give the matter the attention it deserves.
