East Siang Police Detect 22 ILP Violators, Initiate Externment Proceedings

PASIGHAT, July 13: 

In a continued effort to enforce the Inner Line Permit (ILP) system and prevent unauthorized stay in Arunachal Pradesh, East Siang Police have detected 22 individuals for allegedly violating ILP regulations during a recent enforcement drive carried out across the district.

According to official information, the violators were found during routine verification and inspection conducted by police personnel as part of intensified checks to ensure compliance with the provisions of the Inner Line Permit system.

The case has been registered at Pasighat Police Station under PSG PS Non-FIR C/No. 28/26 and booked under Section 3 of the Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulation (BEFRA), which governs the entry and stay of non-residents in the state.

Police said that all 22 violators are being externed from the district in accordance with the directions issued by the Executive Magistrate. The externment process is being carried out as per the prescribed legal procedures.

The enforcement drive forms part of East Siang Police's ongoing campaign to strengthen ILP enforcement and ensure that all visitors and non-residents possess valid permits while staying in Arunachal Pradesh. 

Officials have reiterated that regular inspections and verification drives will continue across the district to identify and take action against ILP violators.

Authorities have also appealed to visitors entering Arunachal Pradesh to obtain valid Inner Line Permits in advance and comply with all applicable regulations to avoid legal action.

Three Held for Mithun Theft in East Siang

  PASIGHAT, July 17:  In a successful joint operation, Mebo Police and Pasighat Police, with active support from the Mithun Owners Association, arrested three persons for allegedly stealing and illegally transporting a mithun.  The stolen animal was successfully recovered. The accused have been identified as Philip Lego (28) of Ayeng Village under Mebo Police Station, Kanggong Lego (19) of Ayeng Village, and Nandu Nath (22), a driver from Chumoni Village in Assam's North Lakhimpur district. According to police, the accused allegedly stole the mithun from the Partung area and were transporting it towards the Itanagar Capital Region (ICR).  Acting on specific intelligence, police intercepted the vehicle carrying the stolen animal at the Gumto Police Check Gate, leading to the recovery of the mithun and the arrest of all three accused. Dr. Lige Basar, Three Others Killed in Assam Crash

  Khetri/Itanagar, May 29:  A tragic road accident in Assam's Khetri area on Friday claimed the lives of four people from Arunachal Pradesh, including a senior veterinary officer, his wife, and two medical students, triggering widespread condolences across the state. The deceased have been identified as Dr. Lige Basar, Veterinary Officer of Keyi Panyor district and president of the Basar Aao Welfare Association (BAWA), his wife Kunga Doima Basar, their son Gemar Basar, and Karma S. Khirmey, Gemar's friend and fellow MBBS student. According to traffic officials, the accident occurred between 11:30 a.m. and noon when the Mahindra Bolero (AR-01Q-0042) in which they were travelling reportedly collided with a truck parked along National Highway 27 in Assam's Khetri area.
