Rupa Bayor Clinches National Gold in Pune

 


PUNE/ITANAGAR, Jul 10: 

Arunachal Pradesh's taekwondo ace Miss Rupa Bayor has once again brought laurels to the state by winning the gold medal in the Under-30 Recognised Poomsae category at the 5th Senior Taekwondo Poomsae National Championship 2026. 

The Championship is being held from July 8 to 11 at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex (Balewadi Stadium) in Pune, Maharashtra.

The championship has brought together some of the country's finest poomsae athletes, with competitors vying for national honours and a place in the Indian team for upcoming international events.

With her gold medal victory, Rupa has earned the opportunity to represent India at the 2026 World Taekwondo Poomsae Championship in Korea, adding another milestone to her already impressive sporting career.

Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein congratulated Rupa Bayor on her remarkable achievement, praising her dedication and perseverance. 

He said her success has made Arunachal Pradesh proud and wished her the very best as she prepares to represent the nation on the world stage.

Rupa's latest triumph comes after a series of outstanding performances over the past year, further cementing her position as one of India's leading taekwondo poomsae athletes. 

Her success continues to inspire young sportspersons across Arunachal Pradesh and the Northeast.
